Asplenium antiquum is an attractive evergreen fern commonly known as a bird’s nest fern. It forms a beautiful rosette of broad, glossy green fronds that emerge from the centre, creating a lush and tropical appearance. Its architectural form makes it an excellent choice for indoor displays, containers, shaded patios and sheltered garden areas. Asplenium antiquum grows best in bright, indirect light to partial shade and performs well in fertile, moisture-retentive but well-drained soil. Keep the soil consistently lightly moist and provide good humidity, particularly when grown indoors. Avoid harsh direct sunlight, which can scorch the fronds.
