Lotus berthelotii is a distinctive trailing ornamental plant known for its soft, silvery-grey foliage and striking, unusual flowers. It produces eye-catching orange-red to scarlet, parrot-beak-shaped flowers, creating a vibrant contrast against its pale foliage. Its cascading habit makes it especially effective in hanging baskets, containers, rockeries and raised garden beds. Lotus berthelotii grows best in full sun and performs well in fertile, well-drained soil. Good drainage is important, as the plant does not enjoy consistently wet conditions. Its trailing growth makes it ideal for allowing the stems to spill over containers and walls. Looking for trailing or colourful flowering plants near me?
