Phormium tenax yellow wave is a striking evergreen ornamental perennial known for its long, arching sword-shaped leaves in bright yellow-green and green tones. Its vibrant foliage creates a strong contrast in the garden, adding colour, texture and architectural interest throughout the year. It is an excellent choice for borders, containers, feature planting and contemporary landscaping. Phormium tenax yellow wave grows well in full sun to partial shade and performs best in fertile, well-drained soil. A sunny position helps bring out the intensity of its foliage colouring, while adding compost or other organic matter when planting encourages strong, healthy growth. Its upright, architectural form makes it particularly effective as a feature plant. Looking for colourful foliage plants or ornamental perennials near me?
