Chondropetalum tectorum is a striking indigenous South African restio with upright, architectural stems that bring structure and texture to the garden. Its fine, reed-like growth creates an elegant silhouette, making it particularly effective in fynbos gardens, water-wise landscapes, borders, mass planting and contemporary garden designs. Chondropetalum tectorum grows best in full sun and performs well in well-drained soil. It is well suited to water-wise planting once established and requires relatively little maintenance. Its distinctive form makes it an excellent feature plant for adding height and movement to naturalistic landscapes. Looking for indigenous grasses or water-wise plants near me?
