Aristida junciformis is a hardy indigenous South African ornamental grass known for its fine, upright foliage and graceful, flowing form. Commonly associated with red grass, it adds movement, texture and natural character to the garden. Its delicate flower and seed heads create additional seasonal interest, making it an excellent choice for borders, mass planting, grassland gardens and naturalistic landscaping. Aristida junciformis grows well in full sun and is well suited to fertile, well-drained soil. Once established, it is a relatively hardy and water-wise grass that works particularly well in naturalistic and indigenous garden designs.
