Falkia repens is a fast-growing indigenous South African groundcover that forms a dense, spreading carpet of attractive green foliage. It produces delicate white to pale pink, trumpet-shaped flowers, adding seasonal colour to its low-growing form. Its ability to spread quickly makes it particularly useful for covering bare areas and filling spaces between other plants. Falkia repens grows well in full sun to partial shade and performs best in fertile, well-drained soil. Once established, it can tolerate heat, drought and poorer soil, making it a practical choice for water-wise and low-maintenance gardens. It also works beautifully between rocks, along pathways and where it can cascade over the edges of containers. Looking for indigenous groundcover or water-wise plants near me?
