Ophiopogon japonicus is a hardy evergreen groundcover plant with dense clumps of narrow, dark green foliage. It produces small white to pale lilac flowers, followed by attractive dark berries, adding seasonal interest to its lush foliage. Its compact growth habit makes it an excellent choice for borders, edging, pathways, containers and mass planting. Ophiopogon japonicus grows well in full sun to partial shade and performs best in fertile, well-drained soil with regular moisture. Its low-growing, evergreen nature makes it particularly useful for covering bare areas and creating a neat, consistent planting scheme. Looking for groundcover plants or ornamental grasses near me?
