Phormium tenax bronze is a bold evergreen ornamental perennial valued for its upright, sword-shaped foliage in rich reddish-bronze to brown tones. Its strong architectural form adds height, texture and year-round colour to the garden, making it an excellent choice for borders, containers, feature planting and landscaping projects. Phormium tenax bronze grows well in full sun to partial shade and performs best in fertile, well-drained soil. A sunny position helps enhance the depth of its bronze colouring, while adding compost or other organic matter when planting encourages healthy establishment and growth. Mature plants may also produce tall flower spikes carrying tubular red flowers. Looking for bronze foliage plants or ornamental perennials near me?
