Dietes bicolor is a hardy indigenous South African perennial commonly known as the yellow wild iris. It forms attractive clumps of upright, sword-shaped green foliage and produces delicate pale yellow flowers with distinctive brown markings. Its long flowering period and easy-care nature make it a popular choice for South African gardens. Dietes bicolor grows well in full sun to partial shade and performs well in well-drained soil. It is relatively drought tolerant once established and works beautifully in borders, mass planting, indigenous gardens, low-maintenance landscapes and larger landscaping projects.
