Phormium tenax flamingo is a colourful evergreen ornamental perennial valued for its long, arching sword-shaped leaves. Its foliage features distinctive pink and olive-green stripes, creating a vibrant and unusual display that brings colour and texture to the garden. Its compact form makes it an excellent choice for containers, borders, feature planting and landscaping projects. Phormium tenax flamingo grows well in full sun to partial shade and performs best in fertile, well-drained soil. A bright position helps maintain its attractive foliage colouring, while adding compost or other organic matter when planting encourages strong, healthy growth.
